Subject:           Pre-Submitted New Business: Nomination of and Vote for the Washington State                                     Labor Council Candidate for the Office of the Vice-President of the A. Philip                               Randolph Institute Constituency Group.

 

Background

 

            The delegates to the Washington State Labor Council have reviewed the response to the questionnaire we sent to the announced candidates for the Vice-President of the A. Philip Randolph Institute Constituency Group for the Washington State Labor Council.  In addition, we interviewed candidate.

            From an email polling of the delegates there was a unanimous support by the delegates to recommend to the NW Council that the council adopt the motion submitted below so that pursuant to the constitution of the Washington State Labor Council we may mark our election ballot for the WSLC band submit it by December 6, 2010.

            James Davis has served as an active member of the WSLC executive board as VP for the A. Philip Randolph Institute Constituency Group for 2 terms. Presently, James is Treasure of the Seattle chapter of APRI, Vice President of the MLK CLC, and delegate for Ironworkers Local 86 for MLK CLC, WSLC, State and Seattle Building Trades.  In addition James is active in community volunteering for MLK March and Rally Committee, NAACP, Mothers for Police Accountability and many other community organizations.

 

 

 

Motion:

 

It is moved that: The SPEEA NW Council shall vote for and directs that the ballot for the election of the Washington State Labor Council Vice-President of the A. Philip Randolph Institute Constituency Group be marked as having all votes cast for James Davis.
