Subject: PRE-SUBMITTED NEW BUSINESS: Approve Implementing the Proposed Northwest By-Laws into SPEEA Governing Documents

Background

Section 15.1 of the SPEEA Constitution states: “By-Laws shall exist for SPEEA and for each Region.” The Northwest Region currently does not have By-Laws in place.

The Northwest Region By-Laws that were in place were revised to correlate with constitutional changes made in the year 2007, but the revised By-Laws were never approved for implementation into SPEEA Governing Documents.

The Northwest Governing Documents committee was asked to update the Northwest By-Laws to be current and correlate with the current and in-place SPEEA Constitution.

The proposed Northwest By-Laws have been published twice for feedback. No feedback was received.

The Northwest Governing Documents committee hereby submits the Northwest By-Laws for publishing and implementation into SPEEA Governing Documents.

Motion

It is moved that: THE SPEEA Northwest COUNCIL approves THE PROPOSED NORTHWEST BY-LAWS FOR IMPLEMENTATION INTO SPEEA GOVERNING DOCUMENTS.
