Bargaining Units
About the Bargaining Units
Under federal labor law, a bargaining unit is a group of employees with a “clear and identifiable community of interests” who join together for collective bargaining. SPEEA has five separate bargaining units, each with its own collective bargaining agreement. Each bargaining unit is made up of professional aerospace workers with similar assignments.
In SPEEA’s Northwest Region, the contracts for the Professional Unit and Technical Unit are negotiated simultaneously, but they are separate contracts for the different groups of workers. All other SPEEA collective bargaining agreements are on different contract cycles.

The current contract for Profs expires on Oct. 6, 2026.
Techs
