If you haven't had a chance to catch an in-person Contract Overview/Q&A session with members of the SPEEA Negotiation Team, check out a series of brief videos.
The videos reflect the Negotiation Team’s contract priorities (aka bargaining platform). They are separate, shorter videos on each topic.
See the Negotiation Team in person! We continue to add more Contract Overview/QA presentations, where you can hear from Negotiation Team members and get answers to your questions about the negotiation process and content background before you vote. Click here for the schedule.
Hybrid Town Halls
Next Monday, Aug. 17, and Wednesday, Aug. 19, you can attend the Contract Overview/QA online or in-person at the Puget Sound halls. Click here for the schedule and meeting links.
Electronic voting credentials
If you’re a dues-paying member in good standing in the Prof or Tech bargaining unit and haven’t received your voting credentials from Election Buddy, please email amberm@speea.org.
SPEEA will also send individual voting credentials to members’ home mailing address on file with us. This will be the same voting credentials and instructions sent via email from Election Buddy. You can only vote once.
Deadline
The deadline to vote is noon, Friday, Aug. 21.
Endorsement/Strike Authorization
The Prof and Tech Negotiation Team unanimously endorsed the offer.
The Bargaining Unit Councils (BUCs), made up of Council Reps and Executive Board members, also voted on whether to take a position on their bargaining unit offer.
The Prof BUC did not meet the 60% required threshold to take a position on the contract offer.
The Tech BUC met the 60% required threshold with a vote to recommend members reject the offer.
Both BUCs voted to add a strike authorization vote to the contract vote ballot and recommended members vote to yes for strike authorization. This vote enables the Negotiation Team to call a strike if necessary.
