We have a special fund, called SPEEA Cares, that helps members, particularly those who are laid off, with financial emergencies.
For approved requests, the fund pays up to a maximum amount for a one-time-only bill related to housing or utilities and can also provide gift cards for gas or groceries.
This is solely funded by member donations. Members have been generous over the years, but more donations are always welcome.
With no administrative fees, 100% of donated funds go to assist eligible individuals in all SPEEA bargaining units.
