- Active in SPEEA “beyond expectations”
- Volunteers to benefit the general community

Award namesake
Everett Council Rep Stephen Pezzini inspired the award in his name. Only 36 when he died of cancer in 1995, he made a lasting difference on his community and his union with his tireless dedication and service. Two years after he died, the SPEEA Council presented the first Pezzini award in his memory. For most years since, a SPEEA member has received the award.
