Our SPEEA Negotiation Team today reached tentative agreements with Boeing on four non-economic provisions for the new contract.
They were:
- Creating new union Functional Representative positions within Ed Wells to aid SPEEA members through their career development at Boeing.
- Strengthening Ed Wells funding.
- Improving the process for NORAs (notices of remedial action).
- Clarifying the use of seniority in retention ratings.
These were the first tentative agreements that the two sides have reached.
Our team and Boeing also continued the earlier discussion about economic issues, including pay and retirement benefits.
“Obviously, the economic issues will be a huge consideration,” said Tristan Vogeler, a numerical control programmer who works for Boeing in Seattle. “But the tentative agreements we reached today represent wins that will improve the lives of SPEEA members at work.”
The two teams will meet again on Friday.
