After our major win last session with the passage of unemployment insurance for striking workers, SPEEA is gearing up for the final state legislative session before our 2026 negotiations.
Our next SPEEA Lobby Day (Jan. 29, 2026) is an important opportunity for members to meet directly with lawmakers and highlight what is at stake in the upcoming contract talks. Securing fair wages and keeping aerospace jobs in Washington is critical for the state’s economy and for the future of our aerospace sector.
We will also be advocating for policies that protect aerospace workers and strengthen Washington’s workforce, including:
- Improving aerospace tax incentive transparency by setting clear baseline employment expectations so policymakers can evaluate if incentives are meeting their job retention and growth goals.
- Protecting private sector workers by supporting a state-based system that safeguards collective bargaining rights if the National Labor Relations Board is prevented from enforcing labor law.
- Additional policy priorities that support good aerospace jobs and strong communities.
Never lobbied before? Not a problem. We will start the day with a training session to help everyone feel comfortable, and new participants will be paired with an experienced union member. All legislative meetings will be scheduled in advance to make the most of our time.
