As we get closer to the start of contract negotiations with Boeing, here are the things that all members of the Prof and Tech units can do to support the team at the bargaining table and help us all get the best contract possible.
Stay informed
Go to the Current Negotiations page and bookmark it. Our team has been posting updates to this page as it prepares for negotiations, and once things get started, the pace of updates will increase.
This will be your best source of information about what is going on. (Boeing will also be creating and disseminating Corporate’s perspective on bargaining.)
We're not going to send regular bargaining updates into the workplace, so if you want contract news delivered directly to you in real time, check your personal email on file with SPEEA.
You can also sign up for text alerts that will tell you exactly when to check your emails for the latest negotiations news.
Follow us on social media: We're on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky and X/Twitter. We'll post negotiations updates there, plus other content that's relevant to union members and aerospace professionals.
Get involved with workplace actions
It's surprising how effective simply wearing a red shirt with 100 coworkers can be in showing our managers that we're united and resolved. Now think of the message 17,000 would send. You can get a FREE SPEEA T-shirt from the union halls in Everett or Tukwila or order your own red SPEEA polo from our online store. (IAM 751 has their own red shirts to support us. Order one for the Machinists you know by clicking here.)
In addition, we have desk tents you can print out at home to display on your desk, and instructions for how to make your own SPEEA desk-top burn barrel on your own 3D printer. Get them all here.
We've also got more SPEEA visibility items at the union halls in Everett and Tukwila. Stop by any time to load up on merch.
Support the CAT
Once negotiations start, the Contract Action Team (CAT) may call on you to take part in some kind of other activity that shows our unity and resolve. Click here to learn more and get involved with the CAT and its activities.
And you can learn more about collective bargaining and taking action through Solidarity School. Click here to see more.
Great contracts are won not by one person doing a lot, but by each of us doing a little. Do your part today to help us win the contract we deserve.
